This is...Jeopardy!
Taking an iconic trivia game show to the next level
A legendary staple of weeknight TV, Jeopardy! is in its 36th season and Alex Trebek is still one of my favorite people on planet Earth.
I was lucky enough to land the sole Senior Copywriter role on the Jeopardy! social account at TVG back in March 2016. As such, I was tasked with bringing the game to younger audiences while not alienating our older, loyal viewers. You can imagine the thrill of being able to bring the show onto new platforms like Snapchat as well as finding new ways to reach younger fans on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
The challenge was that Jeopardy! was not streamable anywhere. So, how do we get people to tune in? From celebrity shoutouts to category videos, we did it all. Teasing categories in fun, internet-ty ways was crucial as well as finding moments where Jeopardy! could naturally jump in to real-time conversations.
All in all, attending live tapings to capture content on the fly and then create interest pieces exclusive for a channels was a B-L-A-S-T. My favorite part of this role was the ability to bring Alex’s personality to the masses.
Some people love him, other viewers hate his snarky remarks. But all can agree that he’s buzz-worthy 24/7.
During my stint in this role, I led the creative content creation and oversight of assets along with Social Strategy lead Kimberly Crespin. As a creative leader on the account, I also managed a junior team of writers and designers who kept bringing the most fun content to support to this iconic show. I pitched content ideas along with Kim to the Jeopardy! production team and marketing clients. I enjoyed every single minute of it. It was 🔥LIT🔥— as the kids say.
Below are more examples of evergreen and campaign specific work I've had the joy of creating.
